2014 ANNUAL FUNDRAISER GAME SEPT.6
Welcome back all HPYFA families!!!!! We want to kick off our season with a bang! As a way to give back to our community the HPYFA program has partnered up with Stiggy’s Dogs. They are based in Howell.

Stiggy’s Dogs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides our military veterans living with PTSD and TBI another method of healing through service and companion dogs. Through their programs, they seek to help heal the wounds of war, provide families with new beginnings and raise awareness about the potential of shelter and rescue dogs everywhere. Since each veteran has unique qualities and needs, each dog is individually trained to meet that veteran’s needs. Stiggy’s Dogs offers the veteran and dog pairing a lifetime of support after deployment.

Stiggy’s Dogs rescues and trains shelter dogs to be psychiatric service dogs for military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (“PTSD”) or Traumatic Brain Injury (“TBI”). The psychiatric service dogs are trained and deployed at no cost to the veteran.

All donations go to support the work they do. It costs between $6,000 and $10,000 to train a psychiatric service dog. Your money helps support these efforts by providing training with skilled experienced trainers, training equipment and tools, space for training, aftercare programs, education, outreach and more.
Sometimes giving is easier and more fun when you can see exactly how your donation is used. They have some constant needs for regular items that they use in training and at the Sanctuary. So HPYFA is going to do a Donation Drive during opening day on Saturday September 6, 2014. We will have a space set up just behind the gate for everyone to bring in donations. Please help the program. Some of them might even be things you need to get out of your home or office anyhow.
